
Since incorporating in 2000, Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County (Habitat Santa Barbara) has built 22 new homes, now providing shelter for 84 people, including 39 children, completed four affordable housing developments and over 150 home repairs.
2007: Habitat Santa Barbara completed the 3-home Via Lucero Affordable Homes development in Santa Barbara’s Hope neighborhood.
2008: The Habitat ReStore in Goleta was opened. The ReStore sells new and salvaged building materials to the public at discounted prices and net revenues contribute to our local Habitat affiliate’s administration costs.
2010: Habitat Santa Barbara completed the 3-home San Pascual Affordable Homes development on Santa Barbara’s lower west side.
2011: Habitat Santa Barbara launched the A Brush with Kindness home repair program. The program provides exterior home repairs to low-income homeowners in need of assistance to maintain a safe and decent place to live. Since launching the program, we have completed over 150 home repairs and collaborated with a number of local nonprofits and businesses.
2014: Habitat Santa Barbara completed the 12-home Canon Perdido Affordable Homes development on Santa Barbara’s Eastside.
2018: Disaster relief efforts removed 42,000 tons of mud and engaged 2,860 volunteers in response to the Montecito debris flow.
2019: Our 3-home Sawyer Avenue Affordable Homes development in Carpinteria was completed. Current Projects
