Estate and Legacy Giving
Become a member of Habitat for Humanity’s Legacy Circle. Legacy giving is finding ways to make charitable gifts now — or after your lifetime — while enjoying financial benefits for yourself. Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income.
The most common way is to name Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County as a beneficiary in an IRA, life insurance policy, living trust or in your will.
Please consult your financial representative or tax professional before making any changes.
Just a few sentences in your will or revocable living trust can make a lasting impact for years to come. A provision may be made using the following language:
I give, devise, and bequeath to Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County, a non-profit organization located at PO Box 176, Goleta, CA 93116, ____ percent of my estate (or, the sum of $________; or, ____ percent of the residue of my estate) as an unrestricted gift.
By informing us of your intentions to make a legacy gift, you become a member of Habitat for Humanity’s Legacy Circle. If you have already done so, please let us know so we can properly thank you for your generosity.
