Home Repair Program
Our Home Repair program addresses health, safety, and security issues including accessibility improvements and repairs that support aging in place.
The majority of projects are completed by licensed contractors to ensure the highest quality repairs. Often, we also complete an A Brush With Kindness project in addition to a Home Repair project, if the homeowner requests it. A Brush with Kindness projects are smaller scale and led with the support of our volunteers at no cost to the homeowner, including painting, landscaping, and minor repairs and maintenance, grab bar installation, and more.
If you are only looking for an A Brush With Kindness project, please head to this page.

Thank you so much for your interest in our Home Repair. Our programs are operated as a grant and not a loan with the generosity of donors and from the support of various government entities. Because of this investment, we undertake a thorough financial review and site visit process prior to an application being approved. Please note that submitting an application or having a site visit from the Habitat team is not to be construed as an approval or guarantee from Habitat that the home repair request has been approved or that work will proceed. Only after a homeowner contract has been mutually signed by both Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County and the selected homeowner, along with an agreed upon written scope of work, shall the agreement be deemed valid. Home repairs and improvements shall be limited to the written scope and agreed upon within a budget that is set and approved by Habitat staff.
